Anahita Azrahimi is a visual artist and performing arts professional based in Toronto.
Her collage paintings and video works have been exhibited in Toronto and San Francisco and are held in private collections in Canada, US, England, Holland and France. Her first solo exhibition, Mashup, was chosen as the Toronto Star’s Critic’s Choice of the Week. She studied studio arts and fundamentals of visual expression as her major in the Arts Management program at the University of Toronto Scarborough. Prior to that she studied painting independently with some of Iran’s leading artists.
As an arts professional, Anahita has had the pleasure of working with very exciting arts organizations and established artists such as Theatre Direct, Creative Trust for Arts & Culture, Dancemakers, Company Blonde Dance Projects, Music Toronto and the Children’s’ Peace Theatre in various marketing, development and management capacities. She is the co-Founder of Sparrow in the Room Artist Collective and sits on the board of Modern Times Stage Company. She has served on the steering committee of CPPAMO and 2010 Dora Mavor Moore Awards Jury in dance section.
