Originally from Markham, Ontario, Claire Whitaker is an emerging dance artist based in Toronto. She is a recent graduate of The School of Toronto Dance Theatre, through which she had the opportunity to perform works by Peggy Baker, Christopher House and Hannah Kiel, as well as her own choreography in coffeehouse productions. Claire has attended numerous intensive programs, including recently the Gaga Intensive at Orsolina 28 in Monvalco Italy, where she worked with Batsheva company dancers and Ohad Naharin, as well as TransFormnation Danse (Montréal, 2017) and the Social Growl summer intensive (Toronto, 2017). Claire has performed in works by Tanveer Alam (Summerworks, 2019), Kristen Innes-Stambolic (Summerworks, 2018), Roberto Soria (New Blue, 2018), and was a member of the 2018 Fog in Hand summer company under Colleen Snell. Claire is currently working with Laurence Lemieux.
